==Early Life==
Kim was born in [[Laramie, Wyoming]] on March 23, 1968 to high school sweethearts, Betty McKinnon (1947) and Larry Andersen (1946). As an oil and gas executive, Larry Andersen moved his family around the world to places including [[Dubai]] and [[Kazakhstan]]. Kimberly spent most of her childhood in [[Littleton, Colorado]]. After graduating from high school, Kimberly went to the same university her parents attended and graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching (1990).
Wanting to move to a warmer climate, in 1990 Kimberly applied and was accepted to begin her teaching career in Katy, Texas. From 1995 until 1997 she attended the [[University of Houston-Clear Lake]] and completed her Masters in Elementary Education and Training. She taught in the Katy school district until 1998, when she devoted her time to raising her three children.
From 1994 until 2013, Kim was married to Mark Sweet. In late 2014, Kimberly met her current husband [[Jeff Hastings]] (<span class="plainlinks">[https://contractcoach.com ''C.E.O. of ContractCoach'']</span>) on the dating website, <span class="plainlinks">[https://match.com ''match.com'']</span>.
The two currently reside in [[Cypress, Texas]] and together, they have six children: Kristin ({{age|1990|07|10}}), Avery ({{age|1995|05|07}}), Alexandria ({{age|1998|12|14}}), Maxwell ({{age|2000|07|24}}), Andersen ({{age|2006|05|03}}), and Logan ({{age|2010|02|14}}).

With a slogan of “Helping You Make Smarter Choices about Your Insurance,” the Kim Hastings Insurance Agency will take the time to explain your insurance program, make certain you are getting every discount you qualify for, and allow you to select the best options for you and your family. Her husband Jeff remarked, "Kim may not be old, but she is old-fashioned when it comes to customer service." The agency provides in-home or office consultations...but also offers her clients the ability to visit with her office remotely using video conferencing.
